Join the world’s top game changers in the anti-doping movement for the one-day symposium, “Doping and the Culture of Sport: Law, Science, Money and Ethics.” This symposium features 18 speakers, panelists, and special guests, including the esteemed Professor Arne Ljungqvist, M.D. of the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Olympic Committee Medical Commission. Not only is Professor Ljungqvist the special guest, but he will participate in one of the panels as well.
The day will begin with a keynote from Professor Ljungqvist, followed by a screening of “The War on Doping,” a documentary which examines the scientific and social aspects of performance-enhancing drugs.
After the film lays a substantial groundwork of understanding for the audience, two panels of experts will discuss various aspects of performance enhancing in sport. Panel 1, “Doping in Sport: History, Impact, and Doping Control,” will be moderated by TJ Quinn of ESPN. Panelists include Professor Arne Ljungqvist, Dr. Steven Ungerleider, Olympian Carie Graves, Dr. Thomas H. Murray, and Dr. Don Catlin.
The second panel, moderated by Mark Fainaru-Wada of ESPN, is titled “New Trends and Strategies in Doping Controls and Tackling Cheating in Sport.” Panelists include Olympian Crissy Perham, Dr. Ted Friedmann, Martial Saugy, Mathieu Holz of INTERPOL, Richard McLaren, and Juliet Macur of the New York Times.
