Continuing Our Impact During COVID-19

We at Global Sports Development want to update you on what we are doing to continue serving our mission and partners during this difficult time.

Like most organizations, we have moved to working from home to comply with social distancing guidelines and help reduce the risk to our employees’ health and that of their families and communities.

Nevertheless, we remain committed to delivering initiatives that promote fair play, education, and the benefits of abuse-free sport for youth and understand that though many programs have been temporarily suspended due to state and city-imposed quarantines, they will eventually be back to providing services. In the meantime, we applaud the creative solutions many of you have implemented to provide programming to your communities.

At GSD, we continue working on initiatives that can move forward in this challenging environment. We have launched our 2020 Exceptional Youth Scholarship, which will award five deserving high school seniors a $10,000 college scholarship (https://globalsportsdevelopment.org/exceptional-youth-scholarship/).  We hope all our partners will encourage their qualifying program participants to apply prior to the April 30th deadline.

We are also working to promote the message of sport as a vehicle for breaking barriers through our media division Sidewinder Films, which is wrapping its latest documentary about the extraordinary life of Hawaiian Duke Kahanamoku, legendary swimmer, Olympic gold medalist and world ambassador of surfing.

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, we will keep you informed of any changes on our end. Should you need to reach out to us, please feel free to do so either by email or phone. We are confident we will emerge from this challenge stronger than ever.

We hope you are safe and stay well.
