We are thrilled to share that The Television Academy has announced the recipients of its 13th Television Academy Honors, and our documentary At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal is among six television programs recognized.
“We are so pleased to recognize these extraordinary programs and producers whose work is heightening public awareness and profoundly influencing social change,” said Television Academy Chairman and CEO Frank Scherma.
From the Television Academy’s website: “The Television Academy Honors celebrates programs across numerous platforms and genres that shed light on complex issues and challenges facing our society.”
Through interviews with dozens of survivors, as well as coaches, lawyers, journalists and Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, ATHOG exposes an environment in which young women spent their youth competing for victory on a world stage, juxtaposed against a culture where abuse was hidden, and lives were forever damaged.
At the Heart of Gold: Inside the USA Gymnastics Scandal is available on HBO and HBO Now here. Stay tuned for more information on screenings!
Due to COVID-19, the Honors Awards ceremony scheduled for April has been postponed indefinitely.
