Washington D.C. is already a delightful melting pot of cultures from around the world, and this October, the culture of sport and the Olympic spirit will also come to life in D.C. as over 1,000 representatives from The Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) descend upon the city for the XX ANOC General Assembly Meeting, October 29-30th, 2015. The Foundation for Global Sports Development is honored to support this annual gathering of National Olympic Committees, which will be co-hosted by the United States Olympic Committee.
XX ANOC GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The ANOC General Assembly is a time when representatives from the National Olympic Committees, Organizing Committees, and International Federations can gather to discuss progress on various projects, highlight outstanding efforts with awards, and prepare for upcoming events. Next to the Olympic Games, the ANOC General Assembly is the largest event for the Olympic Movement.
GSD AT THE ANOC GENERAL ASSEMBLY
This year we are excited to be a part of this important event. As mentioned in this press release from the USOC, we continue our ongoing support of the Olympic movement as sponsors of this event. In addition to offering our financial support, GSD will have the opportunity to share one of our most popular programs with the event’s attendees. A gallery of art from the Culture, Education, Sports, and Ethics Program will be a highlight of the event. This display will feature 27 framed art pieces created by youth from Brazil, the Cayman Islands, Romania, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The art reflects the lessons of sport the youth learned from participating in CESEP and learning about sportsmanship, drug-free sport, fair play, and sportsmanship.
