Honoring Athletes at the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto

David Ulich and Dr. Steven Ungerleider, board members for The Foundation for Global Sports Development, recently participated in the victory ceremonies at the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto. Mr. Ulich and Dr. Ungerleider had the incredible privilege and honor of presenting medals to the gold, silver, and bronze winners for the Parapan Am Games.

HONORING ATHLETES AT THE 2015 PARAPAN AM GAMES

The experience was transformative for both board members. Mr. Ulich explains, “These athletes have dedicated their lives to sport, and winning a medal at the Parapan Am games is the culmination of their hard work and sacrifice. Being a part of this joyous moment where the athletes receive their hard-earned medal was something I will never forget.”

“Victory ceremonies have always been something I enjoy at sporting events,” adds Dr. Ungerleider. “Interacting with the athlete on what is probably the best day of their life is simply amazing. Their happiness was absolutely contagious, and I feel humbled to have shared in that moment.”

The 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto ran from August 7-15 and was the largest Parapan Am games to date with over 1,600 athletes from 28 countries participating. See the results here.
