Fair Play Booth Opens at Olympic Village

Two days before the official Opening Ceremony of the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games (YOG), the pavilion of the International Committee for Fair Play was opened in the Youth Olympic Village on 14 August. The booth offering various interactive activities has been visited by a number of athletes on the first day of its operation. Athletes representing countries from each corner of the world like Antigua-Barbadua, Australia, the Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, Egypt, Italy and Zambia came to learn from the spirit of sportsmanship and how they too can become a fair play hero.

Besides competing, the youth are encouraged by the IOC and the organisers to take part in the YOG Culture and Education Programme, which provides an excellent platform for sharing their experience and learning about new cultures and global issues. Fair play is an integral part of the programme. The International Committee for Fair Play is committed to promoting the values of fair play and also those famous and lesser-known athletes who have lived and competed in the spirit of fairness. Some of the young participants of the Nanjing 2014 YOG may also join their illustrious company. The CIFP is excited to witness encouraging fair play stories in the next fourteen days.
